At the Startup Mzansi Foundation we believe that startups and entrepreneurs lead the way in creating innovative products that improve our lives and drive significant economic and social impact. A robust community of entrepreneurs – paired with resources, mentorship and technology – will be a rising tide that lifts all boats.
About
Startup Mzansi is a non-governmental initiative aimed to supercharge the Southern African startup ecosystem in order to see many more startup success stories to come from Southern Africa. For that, we are working on making Southern Africa one of the world's best places for startups by focusing on these 4 building blocks:
- Strong Ecosystem: Uniting, building and representing the local startup community.
- Smart People: Organizing trainings for startup teams and co-organizing impactful startup events with the community.
- Smart Money: Educating the local investors, attracting foreign investors and initiating new accelerator funds.
- Friendly Regulations: Making it easier to operate a startup, invest or raise funding in Southern Africa.
Our goal is to lay the foundation by bringing together essential elements to create a viable ecosystem, from which startups and young innovative entrepreneurs can accelerate their growth. We do this through lobbying, mentoring, networking, strategic alliances, developing and recognising excellence in youth and promoting a vibrant entrepreneurial culture.
The Startup Foundation is committed to providing a platform for the inspiration and empowerment of youth in business in South Africa and beyond through promoting opportunities to support, connect and grow youth in business.
